About

A Supportive Mental Health Non-Profit in the Tampa Bay Region of Florida

Welcome to Depression Bipolar Support Tampa Bay, Inc., an all-volunteer-run 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to providing support, education, and resources for individuals diagnosed with major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, and other affective (mood) disorders. We also extend our care to family members and friends who are seeking understanding and support on this journey.

We offer a range of services to meet the diverse needs of our community. Our weekly peer-to-peer support group meetings provide a valuable opportunity for individuals to connect with others who share similar experiences. Whether you're seeking support, guidance, or simply a safe space to share your feelings, our support groups offer a comforting environment where you can find understanding and empathy.

In addition, we take pride in our award-winning Aiken Lecture Series, featuring top experts in the fields of Mental Health and Psychiatry. These educational events provide valuable insights and information to the community, empowering individuals with knowledge to better navigate their mental health journey.

As part of our commitment to accessibility, we have a user-friendly website where you can find information, resources, and our informative newsletter. We also have the Elene Laurie Aiken Memorial Library, offering a wealth of self-help books for individuals to borrow on a 21-day loan.

To find a support meeting that suits your needs, please refer to our depression and bipolar support group schedule. We offer in-person meetings in locations including Brandon, Tampa, Saint Petersburg, Clearwater, and Sarasota. Please note that during the 19 months of the COVID-19 pandemic, our support group meetings were held online. However, we have now returned to weekly in-person meetings, allowing us to once again connect face-to-face and provide the support we thrive on.

If you have any questions or would like more information, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. You can contact us at (727) 410-1569, and our dedicated team will be happy to assist you. We are here to walk alongside you, offering understanding, compassion, and a community where you belong.

Sincerely,

John Balcomb / Executive Director
